Known for her diary-like confessional songwriting style and mesmerizing vocals, the Arab-American Lora Mouna uses music as a vessel to capture moments of vulnerability within herself and her relationships. Her music reflects on her shadow work and healing, flowing between indie-rock, folk, and middle eastern music - intertwining the different sonic experiences from her culture and inspirations.
Originally from Winston-Salem, NC, Lora’s musical journey started with hearing her Syrian mother sing and play piano at a very young age, which has become an endless well of inspiration to write music herself. In 2023, Lora made the decision to move to New York City to immerse herself in music and has been working on her biggest project yet: an EP called “Phases of Becoming”, serving as a reminder of continual growth and evolution despite moments of relapse and stagnation.
Lora Mouna has performed in several venues across the United States and abroad, including 54 Below, The Sultan Room, Times Square, the Shangri-La in Istanbul, Turkey, and at the NC Folk Festival in Greensboro, NC.
As a growing artist, Lora finds an upmost importance in using her platform for humanitarian activism, as you may see in her music and on her social media.
